Key Responsibilities

• blockResponsible for the safe running of (allocated) sites and monitor the implementation and control of safe working procedures.
• blockPrepare and implement risk assessments and method statements.
• blockManage/liaise with Sub-Contractors as appropriate.
• blockLiaise with Client, at the depot or on site.
• blockConduct depot and site Inductions.
• blockWeekly Health & Safety & Environmental Inspections.
• blockIssue Works Order and Permits.
• blockOrganising and resourcing staff labour, plant and materials, so that the works progress effectively and economically.
• blockMinimising cost of works through correct programming and utilisation of labour, plant, materials and Sub-Contractors.
• blockEnsuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the contract plan and procedures, with risk assessments and method statements.
• blockChecking drawings, site instructions, work orders and contract documents and reporting any anomalies or lack of information.
• blockMonitor the standard of work of all employees and contractors.
• blockIn conjunction with the Contract Manager or Operations Manager, ensure that the operations are commercially viable.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• blockPrior supervisory experience ideally within a Highways setting
• blockUnderstanding of Highways term maintenance contracts
• blockConfident generating and delivery a variety of MI on a monthly basis
• blockDriving Licence
• blockStrong background in working in accordance with Health and safety policies and procedure
• blockExperience with Confirm and Street Manager systems desirable
• blockTraffic Management Knowledge, LANTRA Accreditation desirable
