Key Responsibilities

• blockComplete all daily vehicle checks and fill out Vehicle Defect Book at the start of shift and end of shift.
• blockReport all defects including tyre issues to Transport Manager.
• blockCompletion of gritting records
• blockSetting calibration rates for gritting on vehicle
• blockGrease vehicle as necessary
• blockFill vehicles with fuel on return to yard at end of the day.
• blockPresent Tachograph card for downloading on a weekly basis.
• blockEnsure all goods are safely secured.
• blockEnsure your vehicle is kept in a good, clean condition.
• blockLoad and unload the vehicle adhering to Safe Working Procedures and Risk Assessments.
• blockWork from other depots within the group and operate other vehicles when required.
• blockReport all accidents and incidents immediately and obtain details as required.
• blockComply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• blockPrevious Class 2 Driving experience essential
• blockWinter Maintenance / Gritter experience desirable (training may be provided for the right candidate)
• blockHGV Class 2 Licence
